Meet the Maker: Hi, I'm Dani

My name is Daniella, and I’m the founder and designer behind Dorada. By day, I work in finance here in Luxembourg, a world defined by numbers, strategy, and data. It’s a career I’ve worked hard to build, and one that brings structure and stability.
But after hours, you’ll often find me at my sewing machine, surrounded by fabric, threads, and a growing pile of half-finished creations. Because even amidst the predictability of a 9-to-5, a quiet unrest began to stir.
I’ve always had a creative side, a deep appreciation for thoughtfully designed pieces, for things that are built to last. I would walk into shops and find myself surrounded by a sea of mass-produced goods. Everything looked the same, and the quality was often fleeting. I found myself asking, “Where is the soul? Where is the story behind these pieces?”
In a world that seems to prioritize speed and volume over craftsmanship, I longed for something different. I wanted to create pieces that could be cherished for a lifetime, that would tell a story, and that were a testament to the dedication of the human hand.
This is the question that gave birth to Dorada.
Dorada isn’t just a side project, it’s the other half of me. It’s where my love for design meets my longing for slower living. Every bag is sewn in the quiet hours when the rest of the city is asleep, or on weekends when the sunlight falls across my sewing table. It’s in those moments- when I’m choosing fabrics, perfecting stitches, or wrestling with a stubborn zipper- that Dorada comes alive.
Each piece is a reminder that luxury isn’t found in a logo. It’s found in the details: the weight of the cotton, the golden glint of a zipper, the way a bag feels when you hold it. Dorada is my way of proving that beauty, function, and soul can all live together in one piece.
I’m still in corporate, still balancing meetings and deadlines with fabric and thread, but maybe that’s what makes this journey so special. Dorada is proof that you don’t have to have it all figured out to start building something that matters.
Thank you for being here, for cheering me on, and for letting me share my heart (and stitches) with you.
With warmth and gratitude,
Daniella
